December 27, 2003 I woke up at 6:45 a.m. It was cold. My blankets had been stolen sometime during the night (a game my family plays on the first one to fall asleep). I quietly got dressed. I didn't want to wake up my always faithful companion, Chance. In less than 10 minutes, I was ready for shoot around. Before I left home, I poured a glass of cold water on my older sister, Heather, who had proudly wrapped herself up in my blankets. I arrived early at Haas to treat the knee I had bruised on Christmas Day during practice. After what once was my good knee had been taped I decided to stretch before shoot around. Once shoot around was over, I helped myself to the training table where I enjoyed French toast with syrup. I returned to my apartment, where I found all of my panties in a soaking pile on my bedroom floor (Heather's payback for the water I had woke her up with at 6:50 a.m.) I would later find out that Heather had been framed. It had been my other sister who taken my blankets and placed them on an unsuspecting Heather. To take my mind off the game, I tried to teach myself how to play the piano. After (what would later be called the unmentionables fiasco) my panties had been washed and dried, I returned to Haas once again for treatment. I stretched out and warmed up for the game against Oregon. I played briefly. If you went to the snack bar, then you probably missed me. I tried my hardest, but my knee could just not take it. I checked myself out. I didn't want to hurt the team. However, I did enjoy the win my teammates were able to pull off: Bears 61, Ducks 57. When the game was over, I went to Merrit's with my family, and wouldn't you know it, some of my teammates showed up, too. LaTasha, Keanna, Khadijah, and Alisa were all there to celebrate Leigh's birthday. I sent Leigh over Merrit's infamous strawberry shortcake (psst, don't tell the coaches). Maybe, I'll leave this part out when I go back and edit this. Happy birthday, Leigh! Her birthday is actually in July, but I had fun pretending it was now. Have a Happy New Year and Go Bears!
