Changes for 2007-08
Many aspects of Bear Backer benefits have been updated for the 2007-08 year. These changes include:

Bear Backer Giving Levels
All gifts to Cal athletics from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, accrue toward Bear Backer giving levels and benefits for 2008 football and 2008-09 men's basketball.

Football Seating
Beginning in the 2007-08 giving year, seat donations for California Memorial Stadium will be determined on a new per-seat donation basis, replacing the former block-seating method. Donors making the minimum seat donation and renewing their season tickets will not be relocated to other sections of Memorial Stadium unless the donor requests movement.

Requests for Improvement or New Tickets
For donors wishing to upgrade their season ticket location, add new season tickets, or gain season tickets for the first time, the appropriate gift for the section and quantity desired must be pledged by April 1, 2008. Pledge payments are due June 2, 2008. All requests for movement must also be made at the time of season ticket purchase and will be ranked in priority point order. It will not be assumed you wish to improve your location despite an increased gift.

Season football tickets are assigned in the following order:
1) Current season ticket holders requesting no movement and who have made the necessary donation are automatically assigned their same seats
2) Season ticket holders wishing to relocate to a lower or non-donor section are assigned the best available seats in priority point order
3) Requests for upgrades, movement, additional seats and new orders are fulfilled according to each request in priority point order.

While Cal Athletics makes every attempt to fulfill each request, a gift does not guarantee an assignment in a specific section or location. A donation represents a charitable contribution to Cal Athletics and its student-athletes, and is non-refundable.

One-time transfer option
During the 2007-08 year, football season ticket holders will have a one-time opportunity to transfer their season tickets to anyone of their choice, as long as the new ticket holder agrees to make the donation necessary for those seats. The transfer option applies only to ticket location. Parking, donation history and years of purchase are not transferable. If you are interested in transferring your season tickets, please contact the Athletic Development Office and request a transfer packet, or download the packet in PDF format here. Transfer forms and related donations are due February 8, 2008.

Men's Basketball Seating

Haas Pavilion has two levels of donor seating, chairback and premium bench seating (shown above). Chairback seating is attained through a one-time donation of $5,000 per seat; premium bench seating is attained through a one-time donation of $2,500 per seat. In addition chairback and premium bench seat holders must make an annual Bear Backer donation as shown below.

Request for improving or attaining premium seating
Chairback and premium bench seating is handled through a waiting list. Donors interested in improving chairback and premium bench seating, or attaining either for the first time, should contact Tod Bannister at 510-642-2427 for more information. Available seats will be offered to those who have requested them in priority point order.

General seating
All general seating in Haas Pavilion is assigned in priority point order and is subject to potential reseating in the summer of 2008. If reseating does occur, information on the process will be sent out in late spring 2008.

While Cal Athletics makes every attempt to fulfill each request, a gift does not guarantee an assignment in a specific section or location. A donation represents a charitable contribution to Cal Athletics and its student-athletes, and is non-refundable.

Football and Men's Basketball Parking
Parking passes are available to season ticket holders for football and men's basketball. For football, donors at the Golden C level ($1,200 or more) and above receive complimentary parking. For men's basketball, donors at the Andy Smith level ($4,200 or more) and above receive complimentary parking.

Beginning in 2008, all parking for football and men's basketball will be reassigned in the priority groups listed on the benefit chart. Pass holders will be ranked by priority points within each group.

With the potential loss of the Kleeberger parking lot due to construction at Memorial Stadium, all 2008 football parking is subject to change. University Parking and Transportation determines the lots available for each sport annually. The available lots are subject to change each year, making it impossible to guarantee an assignment in a specific lot. A list of available parking will be published on CalBears.com at the time of season ticket renewal for football and men's basketball. Pass holders who wish to park in a specific lot must make their request at the time of ticket renewal, and are encouraged to include more than one option.

While Cal Athletics makes every attempt to fulfill each request, a gift does not guarantee an assignment in a specific lot or location. A donation represents a charitable contribution to Cal Athletics and its student-athletes, and is non-refundable.

Football Single Game and Big Game Tickets
Single Game Tickets All donors at the Coaches Club level ($2,100 or more) and above receive priority to order single game tickets to home and away football games. Single game football tickets will be made available in the order listed below. Order dates for each group will be made public in the spring of 2008. Because the demand for tickets can vary significantly game-by-game, it is impossible to predict the quantity available well in advance of the season.

  • Away game ticket orders may restricted from online purchase at certain levels.

Additional Big Game Tickets
For the 2008 season, Big Game tickets are included in the reserved season ticket package. Based on a new agreement with Stanford, more tickets will be available for Cal season ticket holders for home Big Games than in previous years. Season ticket holders will not be relocated to accommodate the allotment of tickets given to Stanford. Additional Big Game tickets will be made available according to the same schedule listed above. The quantity available to individual donors and season ticket holders will be determined in the spring of 2008.
